JOHN & ANNE SON GEORGE TREE 8

COMMENCING WITH GEORGE & ELIZABETH FOLLOWED BY ROBERT & JUDITH, AND FINALLY WITH JOHN & ANNE.

THE DEATHS AND LOSS OF PARENTS, CHILDREN, BROTHERS, AND SISTERS WAS HORRENDOUS. FOR AS YOU LOOK AT THE FAMILY TREES AND STUDY SHEETS 11-10- & 9 IT WAS A BLACK PERIOD OF OUR FAMILY HISTORY.

BUT LIFE CONTINUES FROM GENERATION, AND SOME BRANCHES OF THE FAMILY WITHER AWAY AND DIE. WHERE OTHERS BRANCHES THOUGH SEVERELY PRUNED BY THE VIGOUR'S OF LIFE, SLOWLY RECOVER DUE TO THE ORDINARY MEN & WOMEN REBELLING AGAINST THE INJUSTICE SERVED ON THEM BY THE RICH AND THE POWERFUL OF THE SOCIETY.

THEREFORE COME TO OUR NEXT LINE GEORGE THE GRANDSON OF ROBERT & JUDITH, AND THE ONLY SURVIVING MALE SON OF JOHN & ANN. GEORGE HARMAN IS MY NEXT IN-LINE OF DESCENT.

WE HAVE READ ABOUT IN THIS NARRATIVE THE HARD CONDITIONS OF LIFE, AND HOW IN SOME INSTANCES BRANCHES OF THE FAMILY SURVIVE AND COMMENCE TO FLOURISH, AGAINST ALL THE ODIOUS DISEASES AND HARSHNESS OF LIFE.

SO IT IS IN THE CASE OF GEORGE HARMAN FOR AT THE AGE OF 21 HE WAS IN A POSITION TO MARRY. IT WOULD ALSO APPEAR THAT HE HAD INHERITED THE FARM OF HIS GRANDFATHER ROBERT AND FATHER JOHN, AND SERVED HIS TIME AS A FARRIER & BLACKSMITH.

GEORGE HARMAN SON OF JOHN & ANNE MARRIED MARY HARTLY AT EAST GRINSTEAD ON THE 13th APRIL 1708 AT THE AGE 0F TWENTY ONE AT EAST GRINSTEAD. THIS FOUR YEARS AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS GRANDMOTHER JUDITH.

GEORGE HARMAN WAS A FARMER AS WELL AS A FARRIER, AND AS A FARRIER WOULD ALSO HAVE A SMITHY ON THE FARM. GEORGE'S MAIN TASK WOULD AS A FARRIER TO SHOD HORSES. BUT ALSO BEING A FARMER HE WOULD HAVE UNDOUBTEDLY FORGED AND MADE HIS OWN TOOLS FOR HIS OWN REQUIREMENTS OF THE FARM. HIS MAIN WORKING CLOTHS IN THE SMITHY WOULD BE A SHIRT, WITH BREECH'S

BREECHES WERE SHORT TROUSERS FASTENED BELOW THE KNEE AND LEATHER APRON WITH TASSELS WHICH WERE ALL THE RAGE IN THAT PERIOD OF TIME. THERE WERE ADDED ADORNMENTS DECORATIONS TO BAND STRINGS (E.I.: COLLAR AND TIE) HANDKERCHIEFS, SASHES, PURSE, AND A CANE.

IF WORKING OUT DOORS HIS HEAD WOULD BE WIG COVERED, BUT IF INDOORS, HE WOULD HAVE EITHER WORKED BARE HEADED WEARING HIS NATURAL HAIR, OR WORE A NIGHT-CAP OVER A BARE SHAVEN HEAD, THE WIG BEING DISCARDED.

WIGS WERE WORN BY ALL CLASSES ABOUT THIS TIME AND WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR TO HOT WORKING INSIDE TO WEAR, HENCE WEARING THE NIGHT-CAP.

FARRIER ALSO WAS WELL ACQUAINTED WITH THE ILLS AFFECTING HORSE'S AND WERE THEREFORE USED BY HORSE OWNERS AS HORSE DOCTORS.

IT IS POSSIBLE ALSO THAT MARY, HIS WIFE MAY ALSO HAVE ASSISTED IN THE SMITHY AS A NAILER. WOMEN WERE EMPLOYED IN MAKING NAILS IN THE SMITHY AND WERE CARRYING OUT THIS TASK AS LATE AS 1741 WHEN IT WAS NOTED THAT THESE WOMEN WERE STRIPPED OF THEIR UPPER GARMENTS AND NOT OVER CHARGED WITH THEIR LOWER GARMENT'S. WIELDING THE HAMMER WITH ALL THE GRACE OF THEIR SEX.

AS A FARMERS WIFE MARY WOULD HAVE WORN A BODICE WITH AN OVER AND OPEN DOWN THE FRONT, WITH AN UNDER SKIRT WHICH WERE LIABLE TO BE CALLED PETTICOATS. BUT THE TERM PETTICOAT WAS NOT CONFINED TO AN UNDER GARMENT UNTIL THE 19TH CENTURY.

THE GARMENTS WORN BY MARY WERE SKIRTS. FOR FASHION. THE OVERSKIRT WHICH WAS OPEN IN THE FRONT WAS BUNCHED AND TIED AT THE BACK TO GIVE THE APPEARANCE OF A BUSTLE, IT ALSO SUITED TO KEEP THE OVERSKIRT OUT OF HARMS WAY WHILE WORKING.

AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE THE PARTNERS THAT PEOPLE SELECTED WAS NOT ONLY BASED ON LOVE BUT THE ABILITY AS A MARRIED COUPLE TO SURVIVE AND RAISE A FAMILY. THUS IN ALL PROBABILITY MARY HARTLEY WOULD HAVE BEEN WELL AWARE OF THE HARD WORK IN FARMING.

HOWEVER IT WOULD SEEM AGAIN THAT IT WAS LUST THAT IN ALL PROBABILITY BROUGHT GEORGE AND MARY TO THE MARRIAGE BED. FOR ONCE AGAIN IT WAS A CASE OF MEET, MATE AND THEN MARRY.

MY NEXT IN LINE OF DESCENT AND NAMED AFTER HIS FATHER WAS THEIR CHILD GEORGE BORN IN ALL PROBABILITY IN OCTOBER 1708 AND BAPTISED ON THE 13th NOVEMBER 1708. A SEVEN MONTH PREGNANCY?

GEORGE'S MOTHER & FATHER JOHN & ANN HARMAN WOULD HAVE BEEN AGED FIFTY FIVE AT THE TIME OF THEIR GRANDSON GEORGE'S BIRTH IN 1708. UNFORTUNATELY PARISH RECORDS AGAIN FAIL TO SHOW WHEN ANN HARMAN DIED.

THE SEVEN CHILDREN JOHN & ANN HARMAN HAD BY THEIR MARRIAGE TO, ONLY TWO THAT WE KNOW HAD SURVIVED. THIS BEING GEORGE HARMAN WHO HAD MARRIED MARY HARTLY.

GEORGE & MARY'S NEXT CHILD WAS JOHN IN 1709 NAMED AFTER HIS GRANDFATHER. FOLLOWED BY ANN NAMED AFTER HER GRANDMOTHER IN 1712, THEN ANOTHER GIRL NAMED AFTER HER MOTHER 'S FAMILY NAME BAPTISED MARY HARTLY IN 1715.

GEORGE & MARY WAS TO SUFFER THE LOSS OF THEIR ELDEST DAUGHTER ANN NAMED AFTER HER GRANDMOTHER WHO DIED IN 1716 SHE WAS JUST OVER THREE YEARS OLD.

IN 1719 NICHOLAS A SON WAS BORN AND BAPTISED ON THE 26th OF JANUARY. THIS TO BE FOLLOWED WITH THREE MORE BOYS, WILLIAM, 1720 ROBERT 1722, AND JAMES 1724. BUT THERE WERE NO RECORDS OF THEIR BAPTISMS. SO BY THE YEAR 1725 THE FAMILY WAS COMPLETE

GEORGE MUST HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN HIS LINE OF BUSINESSES AS FARMER AND FARRIER FOR THE FAMILY PROSPERED, AND ONLY ONE DEATH WAS RECORDED WHICH WAS THAT OF ANN THE DAUGHTER WHO DIED IN 1716 AT THE TENDER AGE OF THREE YEARS AND SIX MONTHS.

THIS DUE TO THE SUMMER DISEASE OF DIPHTHERIA. WHICH AFFECTED BOTH RICH AND POOR.

GEORGE & MARY HARMAN HAD A TOTAL OF EIGHT CHILDREN, AND FOUR BOYS SURVIVED TO ADULT HOOD. THERE WERE NO FURTHER RECORDS OF THE SON'S JAMES & JOHN OR THE SURVIVING DAUGHTER CHRISTENED MARY HARTLY.

THOSE THAT SURVIVED WERE GEORGE MY NEXT IN LINE OF DESCENT GEORGE AND HIS BROTHER'S NICHOLAS, WILLIAM & ROBERT.

GEORGE HARMAN WAS BORN IN THE REIGN OF WILLIAM AND MARY OF ORANGE ,AND WHEN HE WAS 7 YEARS OLD. QUEEN MARY WHOSE INFLUENCE HAD CONSIDERABLE EFFECT ON THE MORALE CLIMATE OF THE COURT. DIED OF SMALLPOX DECEMBER 1694 AT THE AGE OF 33.

WILLIAM OF ORANGE LOVED HIS WIFE, AND THOUGH PRESSED TO DO SO NEVER MARRIED AGAIN. WILLIAM WAS NEVER A CONGENIAL KING AND AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE HIS POPULARITY FADED. DURING THEIR REIGN THE PREROGATIVE OF THE KING WAS DIMINISHED BY PARLIAMENT. WILLIAM AND MARY OF ORANGE HAD NO CHILDREN. BUT THE KING. PROVIDED A HEIR TO THE THRONE BY BEING RECONCILED WITH HIS WIFE'S YOUNGER SISTER PRINCESS ANNE.

WILLIAM OF ORANGE DIED ON MARCH THE 9th 1702 BEING ON THE THRONE 14 YEARS. WHEN HE DIED GEORGE HARMAN WAS AT THIS TIME WAS AGED 19.

PRINCES ANN ASCENDED THE THRONE IN 1702, AND BECAUSE SHE WAS THE SECOND DAUGHTER OF JAMES 2nd.

IT WAS NEVER ENVISAGED BY HER FATHER THAT SHE WOULD EVER BE IN THE LINE OF SUCCESSION. THERE FORE SHE WAS UNEDUCATED AND UNTRAINED FOR THE PROFESSION OF MONARCHY.

QUEEN ANN WAS AGED 37 WHEN SHE BECAME QUEEN. IN 1693 SHE HAD MARRIED PRINCE GEORGE OF DENMARK WHO SHE DEARLY LOVED. THOUGH SHE HAD SEVENTEEN CHILDREN. NOT ONE OF THEM SURVIVED FOR LONG. WILLIAM HER SON WAS THE LONGEST LIVING, BUT HE DIED AT THE AGE OF ELEVEN.

WHEN SHE BECAME QUEEN SHE WAS IN PERPETUAL PAIN, BEING STOUT AND HAVING TO BE CARRIED SOMETIMES.  THE DOCTORS OF THAT PERIOD PUT HER CONDITION DOWN TO GOUT, BUT IN ALL PROBABILITY IT WAS DUE TO ALL THE CHILDREN SHE BORE.  SHE WAS VERY FRIENDLY WITH SARAH CHURCHILL WIFE OF JOHN WHO WOULD EVENTUALLY BECOME DUKE OF MARLBOROUGH AFTER THE BATTLE OF BLENHEIM.

QUEEN ANNE PRESENTED HIM WITH ONE OF THE ROYAL PALACE ESTATES AT WOODSTOCK OXFORDSHIRE. THIS TODAY IS KNOWN AS BLENHEIM PALACE, AND WHERE WINSTON CHURCHILL WAS BORN.

THIS WAS THE AGE THAT QUEEN ANN REIGNED AND GEORGE HARMAN WAS AGED 25 WHEN HIS SON GEORGE WAS BORN 1708 AFTER HIS MARRIAGE TO MARY HARTLEY.

IN 1707 THE YEAR PRIOR TO THE BIRTH OF GEORGE SON OF GEORGE & MARY HARMAN QUEEN ANNE GAVE HER SANCTION TO THE TREATY FOR THE UNION OF SCOTLAND TO ENGLAND, AND ALL BRITAIN CELEBRATED THIS IN MAY 1707.  BUT IN NOVEMBER OF 1708 HER BELOVED HUSBAND THE PRINCE OF DENMARK DIED, AND IT WAS IN THAT NOVEMBER GEORGE HARMAN WAS BORN. TO JOHN & MARY HARMAN.

QUEEN ANNE FRIENDSHIP WITH SARAH CHURCHILL COOLED MAINLY DUE TO SARAH CHURCHILL'S HAUGHTY ATTITUDE TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN, AND NOT FULFILLING HER DUTIES. SARAH CHURCHILL ALSO USED THE QUEENS FRIENDSHIP TO ENHANCED HER AND HER HUSBANDS PERSONAL WEALTH,. SO QUEEN ANNE DISMISSED HER.

QUEEN ANNE WAS IN PERPETUAL PAIN WHICH OVER COME HER AND ON AUGUST THE  1 st 1714  SHE DIED WITH NO CHILDREN TO INHERIT THE THRONE. THUS ENDED THE REIGN OF THE STUART DYNASTY

QUEEN ANNE WAS NOTABLE FOR THE UNION OF ENGLAND AND SCOTLAND. THAT LED TO THE FOUNDATION OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE. ALSO FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR PAST HISTORY ELECTIONS AND PARTY CONTESTS WERE GENERALLY SIGNIFICANT.

QUEEN ANNE FOR SOME ONE WHO HAD NOT BEEN TRAINED TO ASSUME THE THRONE OF ENGLAND, QUEEN ANNE HAD BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN HER TWELVE YEAR REIGN. THIS WAS THE LAST OF ENGLISH RULERS OF BRITAIN.

GEORGE OF HANOVER; HOW WE COME TO HAVE A GERMAN KING RULE ENGLAND ?

GEORGE OF HANOVER WHO RULED A SMALL COUNTRY IN GERMANY. THROUGH HIS MOTHER AND GRAND MOTHERS LINE TO JAMES THE 1st AND BY AN ACT OF SETTLEMENT HE WAS OFFERED TO BE KING OF ENGLAND WHICH HE AGREED TO IN 1714. GEORGE OF HANOVER COULD SPEAK NO ENGLISH, ONLY GERMAN WITH A SPATTERING OF LATIN. HE TOOK HIS TIME IN ACTUALLY COMING TO ENGLAND LANDING AT LONDON ON THE 30th SEPTEMBER AT GREENWICH..

HIS MAIN INTEREST IN LIFE APPEARED TO BE FOOD, HORSE'S, AND WOMEN.

THE NEW KING OF ENGLAND GEORGE THE 1st WAS A SHY, SUSPICIOUS AND UNIMAGINATIVE MAN. HE HAD BEEN MARRIED TO A SOPHIA DORATHEA AND FROM THIS MARRIAGE HAD TWO CHILDREN. BUT SHE TIRED OF GEORGE AND HAD AN AFFAIR WITH A SWEDISH COLONEL. IT WAS RUMOURED AROUND EUROPE THAT GEORGE HAD THE COLONEL HACKED TO PIECES AND SPREAD THROUGH OUT THE KINGDOM.

SOPHIA WAS DIVORCED BY GEORGE AND, DENIED ACCESS TO THE CHILDREN, AND ON TOP OF THIS IMPRISONED FOR LIFE. SOPHIA WAS 26 AT THIS TIME AND DIED IN PRISON AT THE AGE OF 60.

GEORGE THE. 1st ARRIVED WITH ECSTATIC VERSES OF WELCOME BY THE TORIES WHO HAD VOTED FOR HIM TO BECOME KING.

THE TRUE FEELING OF THE NATION WAS LESS ENTHUSIASTIC, LEAST OF ALL BY MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND, THE COUNTRY GENTLEMAN, AND ABOVE ALL THE SCOTS WHICH FELT THAT THIS WEE GERMAN LADDIE HAD NO RIGHT TO THE THRONE.

THEIR CHOICE WOULD HAVE BEEN JAMES THE OLD PRETENDER, SON OF JAMES STUART THE 2nd WHO HAD FLED TO FRANCE. THE WHIGS OF PARLIAMENT HAD ALSO FAVOURED THIS CHOICE.

AS SOON AS THE KING SETTLED DOWN IN ENGLAND ORDINARY PEOPLE TOOK STOCK OF THE SITUATION AND STARTED TO LAUGH. AT GEORGE OF HANOVER, NOW GEORGE THE 1st. HE JUST DID NOT KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE AS KING.

HE HAD TWO GERMAN MISTRESS, ONE SKINNY AND ONE AS FAT AS A WOMEN COULD BE. THE SKINNY ONE WHO HE MADE DUCHESS OF KENDAL WAS KNOWN BY THE COMMON POPULACE AS MAYPOLE AND THE FAT AND GROSS ONE, THE ELEPHANT AND CASTLE. KING GEORGE THE 1st BEGAN HIS REIGN OF ENGLAND IN 1714. IN 1715 WHEN GEORGE SON OF GEORGE & MARY HARMAN WAS 7 YEARS OLD

THERE WAS BITTER HATRED BETWEEN GEORGE THE. 1st AND HIS SON GEORGE WHO HAD NEVER FORGIVEN HIM FOR WHAT HE HAD DONE BY IMPRISONING HIS MOTHER SOPHIA. GEORGE HOPED HIS FATHER WOULD DIE AND THAT HE COULD RELEASE HIS MOTHER. BUT AS I HAVE STATED HIS MOTHER DIED IN PRISON IN NOVEMBER 1726 AGED 60 SHE SPENT 39 YEARS IN PRISON FROM THE AGE OF 26. FOR SEVEN MONTHS SHE WAS DENIED BURIAL.

EVENTUALLY IN MAY GEORGE THE. 1st TRAVELLED TO HANOVER ACCOMPANY BY HIS MISTRESS THE MAYPOLE. A FORTUNE-TELLER HAD ONCE TOLD GEORGE THE. 1st THAT HE WOULD NOT SURVIVE HIS DIVORCED WIFE ONE YEAR AFTER HER DEATH. SHE WAS RIGHT. GEORGE THE. 1st 67 YEARS WERE BEGINNING TO TELL WHEN HE SET OUT FOR HANOVER. ON THE 10th OF JUNE 1727 .HE SUFFERED A BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE AND DIED IN THE ROOM HE WAS BORN IN.

THE ENGLISH HAD NEVER LOVED THEIR GERMAN KING, AND WHEN NEWS ARRIVED BROAD SHEETS DECLARED "THE DEVIL HAS CAUGHT HIM BY THE THROAT AT LAST". NO PLANS WERE MADE TO BRING HIS BODY BACK TO ENGLAND AND HE WAS BURIED IN HANOVER.

GEORGE THE. 2nd IN 1714 AT THE AGE OF 33, HAD BEEN MARRIED FOR EIGHT YEARS TO CAROLINE OF ANSPACH SHE WAS A LARGE BLONDE, SENSUAL AND EARTHY. GEORGE THE. 2nd WAS GENUINELY ATTACHED TO HIS WIFE .WHO DESPITE HER FLIRTATIOUS, ARTFUL, AND BAWDY WAYS WAS NEVER UNFAITHFUL. SHE ALSO DISCREETLY DOMINATED GEORGE THE. 2nd, AND WAS FAR TO INTELLIGENT TO TAKE ANY NOTICE OF HIS DALLIANCE WITH THE LADIES.

WHEN ROBERT WALPOLE GAVE GEORGE THE. 2nd THE NEWS THAT HE WAS KING ,HE REPLIED "DAT IS ONE BIG LIE" FOR HIS FATHER GEORGE THE. 1st HAD NOT NAMED HIM AS HIS SUCCESSOR. BUT HE ASSUMED THE THRONE IN JUNE 14th 1727. LIKE HIS FATHER GEORGE THE. 2nd & HIS WIFE QUEEN CAROLINE HATED THEIR ELDEST SON PRINCE FREDERICK, A TRAIT THAT SEEMED TO RUN IN THE HANOVER FAMILY. THE KING ONCE SAID OF HIS SON OUR FIRST BORN IS THE GREATEST ASS, THE GREATEST LIAR, THE GREATEST RABBLE, AND THE GREATEST BEAST.

PRINCE FREDERICK DESCRIBED HIS FATHER GEORGE THE. 2nd, AS 'AN OBSTINATE SELF-INDULGENT MISERLY MARTINET. WITH AN INSATIABLE SEXUAL APPETITE'. SADLY THIS WAS NOT FAR FROM THE TRUTH. PRINCE FREDERICK COULD NOT WAIT FOR GEORGE THE. 2nd THE KING TO DIE. THEN HE PRINCE FREDERICK WOULD ASCEND TO THE THRONE

THE KING AGAIN WITH HIS GERMAN MISTRESS'S WAS NOT WELL LIKED BY THE ORDINARY PEOPLE, AND IT WAS ONLY THE POLITICIANS, AND THE ANGLICAN CHURCH THAT KEPT HIM IN POWER.

WHILST GEORGE HARMAN WAS GROWING UP IN THE REIGN OF GEORGE THE. 2nd MANY THINGS WERE HAPPENING. WHIGS AND TORIES STILL BATTLING ONE ANOTHER. ONCE WHEN THE KING GEORGE THE. 2nd WAS AWAY TO HANOVER, A OLD HORSE WAS TURNED LOOSE IN THE STREETS OF LONDON. THE ANIMAL BORE A PLACARD

('LET NOBODY STOP ME I AM THE KINGS EQUIPAGE GOING TO FETCH HIS MAJESTY AND HIS WHORE TO ENGLAND'.)

LIKE HIS FATHER BEFORE HIM , GEORGE THE. 2nd WAS THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE ORDINARY PEOPLE. WHO STILL DID NOT RELISH A GERMAN AS KING , AND WHEN THE PARLIAMENT TRIED TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION OF GIN, MOBS STORMED THE ROYAL COACH SCREAMING, "NO GIN NO KING"!

GEORGE HARMAN WAS AGED 29 IN 1737 WHEN THE QUEEN CAROLINE LAY DYING WITH A LINGERING AND PAINFUL ILLNESS. GEORGE THE. 2nd WHO HATED ILLNESS WAS A MIXTURE OF IRRITATION AND REMORSE.

ONE MOMENT HE WOULD ASK CAROLINE HOW THE DEVIL COULD SHE EXPECT HIM TO SLEEP WHEN SHE WOULD NOT LIE STILL; AND THE NEXT HE WAS IN TEARS AT THE THOUGHT OF LOOSING HIS BELOVED WIFE. QUEEN CAROLINE DIED A PAINFUL DEATH IN NOVEMBER 1737.

IT WAS FOUR YEARS AFTER THE DEATH OF QUEEN CAROLINE THAT GEORGE HARMAN  MARRIED ELIZABETH DUMSDAY ON THE 13th JANUARY 1741, GEORGE BEING AGE 33.

GEORGE HARMAN WHO WAS A FARMER & FARRIER FOR ALL HIS LIFE AT EAST GRINSTEAD, DIED AGE 65 AND WAS BURIED AT EAST GRINSTEAD ON 26th JAN. 1752.

MARY HARMAN HER SELF WAS TO SEE THE LOSS OF THE TWO GRAND CHILDREN, BUT WITHIN MONTHS GEORGE THE SON LOST HIS MOTHER MARY WHO DIED IN THE SAME YEAR 1752, BEING BURIED WITH HER HUSBAND ON THE 25th JULY 1752 AGED 69.

GEORGE DYING IN THE JANUARY AND MARY HIS WIFE SIX MONTH'S AFTER IN JULY. BOTH BURIED TOGETHER AT EAST GRINSTEAD.

COMMENCING WITH GEORGE HARMAN & ELIZABETH LANGRIDGE 1629. THE LAND USED FOR FARMING HAD BEEN PASSED DOWN THROUGH THE. GENERATION'S.

GEORGE & MARY HARMAN SON & GEORGE'S BROTHER WILLIAM TREE 8

WILLIAM THEIR SON. BECAME A BRICKLAYER AT EAST GRINSTEAD AND MARRIED A SARAH SAUNDERS AT THE FLEET IN LONDON ON NEW YEARS DAY 1761. THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN A GIRL HANNAH FOLLOWED BY A BOY NAMED STEPHEN. BOTH CHILDREN SURVIVED TO ADULTHOOD AND MARRIED. STEPHEN TO A MARY DADSWELL FROM HARTFIELD 17TH OCTOBER 1779 @ HARTFIELD .
