GEORGE THE SON OF NICHOLAS AND ANN TREE SHEET-8/2A

GEORGE MARRIED BEFORE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO TRACE WHO HIS FIRST WIFE. HIS  2nd  WIFE WAS  SARAH GRENE AT EAST GRINSTEAD ON 28 11 1779 . GEORGE & SARAH  HAD A SON WHO WAS BORN AT EAST GRINSTEAD 1779 WHEN GEORGE HIS FATHER WAS AGED 26.

SARAH DIED WITHIN FOUR YEARS FROM THE MARRIAGE AS GEORGE REMARRIED AT FAVERSHAM ON THE 5- 12 1784 TO LYDIA SIMMS.

THE SON JOHN WAS BROUGHT UP IN TICEHURST BY GEORGE AND LYDIA, AFTER HIS MARRIAGE, AND AS HE ATTAINED AGE RETURNED TO EAST GRINSTEAD.

JOHN WAS A SERVANT  1804 AT THE AGE OF 25 AT EAST GRINSTEAD, AND ABOUT THIS TIME HE MARRIED A GIRL BY THE NAME OF JANE. THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN TWO BOYS AND ONE GIRL.

THE BOYS BEING EDWARD THE ELDEST AN THEN A GIRL SARAH NEXT. THE YOUNGEST BOY BEING JOHN.

IT IS HERE THAT ALL THEIR CHILDREN WERE CHRISTENED. THE PARISH RECORDS GIVING THE WIFE'S NAME AS WELL AS THE FATHERS.

EDWARD THE SON OF JOHN & JANE MARRIED AMELIA ELLIOTT ON THE 8TH DECEMBER 1822 AT WORTH. THOUGH HE MARRIED AT WORTH ,BUT EDWARD AND AMELIA SETTLED IN EAST GRINSTEAD. RAISING A FAMILY OF FIVE. IN DESCENDING ORDER CHARLOTTE, AMELIA, WILLIAM, ANN, AND EDWARD.

ALL THE CHILDREN REACH ADULTHOOD. AND MARRIED THE EXCEPTION BEING AMELIA ,AND ON HER THERE IS NO FURTHER INFORMATION.

EDWARDS AND AMELIA'S DAUGHTER CHARLOTTE MARRIED RICHARD BALDWIN ON THE 16TH OCTOBER 1847 AT EAST GRINSTEAD.

WILLIAM MARRIED AT EAST GRINSTEAD TO ANN MARTIN ON THE 26TH AUGUST 1862. IN THE CENSUS OF 1881 THEY WERE STILL LIVING IN EAST GRINSTEAD.

ANN MARRIED AT EAST GRINSTEAD TO RICHARD PAYNE ON THE 26 OCTOBER

1867

EDWARD MARRIED AT EAST GRINSTEAD TO ANN PAINE A WIDOW AND THEY HAD ONE CHILD, A BOY IN 1865 CALLED EDWARD GEORGE. IN THE CENSUS OF 1881 THEY WERE STILL LIVING IN EAST GRINSTEAD.

AFTER TWENTY FOUR YEARS OF MARRIAGE TO EDWARD HIS WIFE AMELIA DIED ON THE 22 MAY 1847 AT THE AGE OF 46 AND WAS BURIED AT EAST GRINSTEAD.

IT IS HERE THAT THE CENSUS STARTS TO GIVE INFORMATION OF FAMILIES.

NOTHING HAD BEEN FOUND ON SARAH THE DAUGHTER OF JOHN & JANE HARMAN, AND THE SISTER TO EDWARD AND SISTER-IN -LAW TO AMELIA.

BUT IN THE CENSUS OF 1851 WE FIND THAT SARAH REMAINED A SPINSTER, AND AFTER THE DEATH OF AMELIA WAS REGISTERED AT EDWARDS HOUSE IN THAT YEAR 1851 AS HIS HOUSE KEEPER AND SISTER.

WHEN AMELIA DIED THE CHILDREN WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN YOUNG. THE YOUNGEST BEING EDWARD AGE 6, AND CHARLOTTE THE ELDEST DAUGHTER AGE 21, BUT AS HER MOTHER DIED IN THE MAY CHARLOTTE MARRIED IN THE OCTOBER.

IT IS THEN THAT I BELIEVE SARAH CAME TO LOOK AFTER HER BROTHER EDWARD AND HIS CHILDREN.

TEN YEARS ON EDWARD HIMSELF DIED AT THE AGE OF 56  ON THE 28 AUG 1857. ALL HIS LIFE HE HAD BEEN A AGRICULTURE LABOURER

UNFORTUNATELY WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT BECAME OF EDWARDS SISTER SARAH. THE YOUNGEST CHILD OF THE FAMILY BEING EDWARD WOULD NOW HAVE BEEN AGE 16

IN THE CENSUS OF  1851 AT THE AGE OF 72 JOHN HARMAN IS REGISTERED IN THE PAUPER ALMS HOUSE WITH WIFE JANE WHO ALSO AGED APPROXIMATELY 72. JOHN DIED ON THE 19 DEC 1857 A POOR SERVANT AGE 78.

WHEN JANE DIED IS NOT KNOWN.

GEORGE WAS MARRIED AS WE NOW KNOW PRIOR TO HIS SECOND MARRIAGE WHICH WAS TO LYDIA SIMMS WHO HE MARRIED ON THE 5TH OF DECEMBER 1792.AT FAVERSHAM IN KENT

GEORGE AND LYDIA MOVED THEN TO TICEHURST IN EAST SUSSEX WHERE THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN ALL BOYS. JOHN, GEORGE AND EDWARD

OF THE THREE BOYS NONE THAT I KNOW OF MARRIED.

THE ONLY ONE TO CARRY ON THE LINE WAS JOHN HIS FIRST SON FROM HIS FIRST MARRIAGE .  SEE FAMILY TREE 8/2A
